Academy pulls AR's off the shelves.

Last I read they had pulled them but were still selling them. I have also heard but not read anywhere that they decided not to sell them anymore and in response to that Daniel Defense pulled all products with their name on it from Academy.

As I said though, the Daniel Defense was strictly word of mouth from someone I trust but don't know his source.

Academy flier in today's paper listed three AR's.

Bushmaster 16" Quick Response "Carbine-Rifle" (whatever that is) looks like flattop @ $649.99

Bushmaster M4A3 @ $799.99

Ruger AR556 Rifle @ $669.99

Don't know if they are displayed in store or not.

Regards,
hm

The shop I work PT at has quite a few AR's in stock. We are the only actual gun shop open on Sunday. Of course Academy and Bass Pro are open. From 11-4. I didn't show a customer a single AR. Guess the scare isn't to bad yet. None of them killed anyone either.

I went to my local academy and asked the young man behind the counter if they stopped selling ARs. He said no just took them off the rack for a short time. He stated due to Orlando shooting and will be back to normal in few weeks. I asked "I guess the political pressure got to be too much huh". He said "you have no idea". So who knows when they will be back on the racks again.

No more academy for me. Lets see if the gym shorts running shoe crowd can do it for them. I dont buy my gun stuff there and the fishing gear has gone to seed. They dont carry many good rods or reels anymore. Just there own mediocre brands. Time to support just the local tackle shop now just like the local gun shop. If they dont have it then they will have to order it. Academy had let the overall quality of what carries drop too much anyway.
