adding a riser to my ar?

I have the armalite scope mount for my dpms flat top. The scope is a little tight, requiring a cheek placement that is not quite natural.

My question is will a riser fix the issue? If so, what type of riser do I need?

Will this one work?

Thanks for your input.

sure it will work, but here is how I look at that, just 2 more screws to shoot loose when ya need to hit a target.
for a flat top I like either a 1 pc mount/rings or the extra high AR rings from millett.

I'm using a riser that looks almost just like that but made by ARMS, and it works great and I have yet to have it come loose.. Also I bought mine At Sportsmans in Chattanooga.

It would work, but it will then be too high (in my opinion).
The Model One mount is a little higher than the Armalite, if that would give you enough.
Good luck, that's tough to figure out by trial and error.

TNcrittergitter, I just called my son Wes at Ten Percent Firearms to find out what rail he had me put on my AR. I also just took a picture of it. I needed to move the scope up a little and forward a bunch so he set me up with a Rock River Arms Scout Rail. With this rail I used low rings and it worked perfect.

You can pick up a set of leupold see through rings at wally world for about $17 that will give you all the clearence to mount whatever. blue
