adjusting CZ trigger?

I have 2 of the CZ 527 American's, one in .204 Ruger and the other in .223. I use and like the single set trigger when I'm at the range, but I never use it while hunting. The regular trigger on both my 527's leave a lot to be desired! Kind of like dragging your trigger finger through partially set concrete! Does anyone have any experiance in adjusting the CZ's trigger that they'd like to share? Can you adjust both the weight and creep?

I have a CZ 527 Varmint, and the trigger is adjustable for both tavel and pull weight. When you drop the action out of the stock there are several screws that are easily accessible. You will have to look in your book and see which one does what, as i don't remember. You can help the trigger a lot by playing with the adjustment, but it is still a long way from perfect. I took mine to a gunsmith and let him slick it up a little. It now has a 2lb. trigger with no creep or travel. If you want it to be really crisp I recommend taking it and having it done. - JS

I love my 2 stage trigger. Everything is easily adjusted and it is by far the best trigger of anything I have. Just follow the directions in the booklet, it is pretty easy to do. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

CZ triggers or so easy to get right it aint even funny, here is what I did on my 2 527's. first I made sure the gun was unloaded and pushed the set trigger, I dropped the gun on the butt of the stock firmly to make sure the set trigger would not go off with a sharp jolt. My little carbine did go off doing this, so I adjusted the screw under the trigger and that fixed it, both the unset triggers on both guns kinda sucked, so I went to the CZ web site and downloaded the manuel with instructions. all I did was adjust the take up on both triggers and they work great for general shooting and feild use, at the range I usually use the set trigger

My 204 Cz 452 American also has a trigger that needs adjusting. My magazine will not send shells to the chamber . Anyone had this problem? The book shows the gun has been ckecked before it is sent out. What a joke.

Paul or anyone else. Did you adjust the screw by the trigger that you dont have to take the stock off?

GP, you have to remove the stock from the gun, there are 3 screws that are adjustable. if you don't have your owners manual, you can download it from the CZ site.

As to the feeding from the mag, here is what I have found with CZ's, first, check the action screws, I just snug mine, some have been tightened like a gorilla. depending on the bedding of the rifle this could cause the action to bind slightly and make feeding and bolt operation a little rough, next I have noticed that some clips feed better than others, I think most of the problem is caused by too much spring tension in the clip which causes a bit of a bind when the bolt is trying to remove a round from the clip, here is what I have done. I polish the feed rails with JB bore paste. I also store the clip loaded full with 5 shells, this has helped relax the spring tension in the clip, now my CZ carbine feeds like a fine custom dangerous game rifle

Steve, My magazine or whatever the problem is,is so bad when I try and chamber a round it pushes the bullet into the case. I sent the mag back to CZ America. Thanks for the info.
