It is one more thing to remember to set/check and is ok if there is lots of time.  I have a 5-15 on a .223 and it is a long reach to the front of the scope - but it still is nice.  For a hunting 2-7 or 3-9, it is a nuisance.  I do have one on a .22 for gophers and like it.
