Does anyone know of a manufacture that makes an aftermarket stock for a Rem. 788 .223 Wanting a thumbhole but a quality synthetic would work also. Thanks for any replies.

Yup, Richards and you might also check Boyds. I've put a couple of the dual grip thumbhole stocks on rifles and really like that style for a sporter.

I'm planning on putting a Mannlicher stock on a Remington Model 7 carbine this summer, one of their old classic models I think in French Walnut. It should make a fun project for my Grand daughters Christmas present.

I don't know if you're still looking for a thumbhole stock or not, but you can check out Stocky's NewGunStocks.com and see if you like them. The one's that I saw were unfinished and around $150.00. Good luck.

If you order one from Richards, plan on waiting forever. Try looking at the returns/cancelled in stock finished stocks. That only takes a week or so.

I was going to tell you to look for the Ramline stock... but you said QUALITY SYNTHETIC... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
