Looking into rebarreling my .264 win mag I want to stay somewhat light weight and get out to 26". May go one step heavier than magnum sporter. What is best bang for buck so to speak?
This is like asking Ford Chevy Toyota or Dodge. Any of the big name brand barrels work and work well but more important is twist rate, length and who does the work.
My .02
I barrel a lot of actions. I have used them all as far as barrels go...there are really not any bad ones. I have had particularly good luck with Pac-Nor. I like their polygonal rifling. I think you would be very happy with a nice Pac-Nor barrel. Don't overlook Hawk Hills barrels either. Sean is a nice fella and his barrels are top notch. Best of luck.
Thanks guys. I am so on the fence about shooting it some more or rebarreling had a smith scope the factory barrel he said rifling still looks great and throat looks great.
