AGS

So I got to use my annealer today. I dug out my 22-250 brass and picked out 100 pieces to anneal and trim for the Sako I bought this week-end. A friend has an annealer that he paid close to $500 for. My little AGS does everything his does and I got my for $150 with the hoses thrown in. Took me about 30 minutes to do 100 cases. I should have got one sooner.

I have the meter on about 26. Not sure if that is seconds or not. The neck is just starting to get an orange color when it drops the case. I'm just using a single torch.

I just did probably close to 200 pieces of 6.5 CM. Wow, its like I came out of the stone age using little annealer. It's small ( 5 1/2"x5 1/2" and 4 1/2" tall) and doesn't take up much room and I don't really see the need for an annealer that can cost over a grand. No more setting in the garage with a torch and a drill. It might have taken an hour to do all my brass for the CM. Why I didn't buy one of these sooner is beyond me. If I had a complaint, it would be the little speed control is very touchy. But once you get it where you want it, it stays there and all you do is keep the turn table loaded with brass.

you didnt get one sooner because - like a lot of folks - why do i need to get a new gizmo when a socket and a drill works "just fine".

sure it works great, and the end result is the same - but if you value your time... sometimes stepping into this fancy new technology is the right answer :)
