AIM Sport Optics

Well, having never use a scope with less than 10 power and wanting a low power scope for my light weight AR yote smacker I did what most will say was stupid.I bought a 1-4x24 AIM Sport Optics scope. Reason being: If I don't like the low power, I'm not invested $3-4 hundred bucks and then have to take a loss on reselling the scope. Another reason, the reviews I read were not to bad considering the price I paid. If I find I don't like it or its just a total POS, I'm not out much and can crap can it or put it on a muzzel loader, something? Only out $90 bucks and figured it would let me know if the lower powered scopes will work with my old tired eyes. The scope is actually decent looking and is a one piece tube, pretty clear looking out my front door and at over 100yds across the field in front of my house, looks like I should be able to hit coyote size targets pretty easy. I'll let you know more when I get to the range to sight in.

Its not the money as much as what I have used to for so many years. Even my smoke pole sports a 10 power Nikon. My vision sucks...and I like big scopes. So this is an adventure into the unknown for me. If I like it and I can keep my accuracy acceptable (?), I will spring for better glass. For now, its a cheepo.

23 degrees, snow blowing like crazy but got cabin fever and headed to the range. Bought a box of the cheapest ammo Academy had for sale just to get on paper. At 25yds, the AIM was extremely easy to dial in. with 1/2 moa clicks. Low and right with the first three shot, adjusted and smacked the bull with the other two (using a 5 round mag). Loaded 5 more, hit the same place and loaded up and headed home. I was freezing my butt off. Now for some good hand loads and 100yd. zero and I'm good to go. This is when I'll be able to decide if a 1-4 power scope is the right one for me. As for a review, its a cheap scope but it seemed to work just fine the first time out. No noticeable problems.
