Always carry a hand call

At least one.
I like my x24, but there are situations where you need to set up and get some sound out there quick.
I always carry a Primos Catnip call on me for such occasions. They're small and easy to pack, and plain work. Most times when I'm glassing on my way to a stand and see a coyote out hunting, I plop down, get my rifle ready, and toot on the Catnip.
In this case, the coyote was working away from us pretty quickly, so the minute or two I saved between sighing and calling might have made all the difference.

Tell your brother "nice shot" BTW, he is not very good looking 😊
Just one more reason some of us hunt in the dark, Mike! :ROFLMAO:

My hand calls are always around my neck, but admittedly, my e-caller accounts for the bulk of my kills. My hand calls see the most use for those popup coyotes spotted prior to getting setup. I'll also throw them out there at coyotes that are hung up and refuse to acknowledge everything else. I really should commit to using them more often as I have been successful with them at times. I'm a relative newcomer to diaphragms as well. The last couple seasons to be honest, and I have had success with them as well. As I previously stated... There's not a good reason not to have them with you. They certainly just add to your tool bag.
