am i wasting my time????

i opened a new box of DTAC's. All the tips look really uneven so i decide to measure them to try to eliminate some varibles. I got my comparator and grabbed the first bullet and measured from boattail to ogive, then zeroed it out then sorted all 500 bullets. I made piles that were -.001 thru -.009. Do you guys think it was a waste of time to do this or do you guys think batch loading these will pay off?????

Since you are already separated into batches I would load them and test them. No sense in wasting all that work.

If you are driving those bullets long range it might pay off. Even if so, the wind will probably make more of a difference than the segregated bullets.IMO

I don't separate bullets. To many other variables to keep in check.

yeah got it back this morning and its 2.85 oal now so im pretty happy about that, now IF i get some tiime off work ill be able to shoot it!

Open any box of bullets and you will get the same results. Berger, Serria, Hornady are close, but still different from round to round.

What did you sort them by, and how much did they vary? Also brand and make?
