Ameristep Chair Blind

A blind is generally about as useful as rollarskates for coyote hunting. You would be putting it up and taking it down all day, not to mention carrying it around. Even if you were only going to make one stand a day and had it set up the night before, how would you take a shot to the left, right, or behind you?

About the only time I've ever used one was taking my can't-sit-still grandson with me, and then it's just a 2'ft high cammo-net "fence" that weighs a few ozs, not 11 pounds.

Bad idea, save your money.

Looks good if you know from wich direction your game comes....but i prefer blinds without roof and lower walls so you can spin around for shots 360`...i also hunt birds so i want to be able to shot in the flight also......

when you look for a blind try and think of every possible shooting angle not just the straight ones, and of course as lightweight as possible....

Good luck in getting one!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

If you want to use a blind I would suggest using a 8'x3' piece of cloth or something similar. I personaly have had no need for one but at least that would be light weight and portable.

I have a blind that i bought because i couldn't pass up the deal... but this year will be the first it will be used because my wife is hunting with me and it will provide a cover for any movement, a rain and wind barrier, and a place where no one will see if she falls asleep.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.giflol

You might look at this. Not a blind, but gets you above the grass and swivels 360 degrees along with providing a solid rest for the rifle for longer shots. I'm going to get one for my coyote sets. I am crippled and am beginning to have a hard time getting up and down. I usually don't go far from where I park and hunt the canyon edges where they drop off from the wheat fields. Pulling up coyotes from the canyons makes this possible.

This is the kind of country I hunt. Lots of steep canyon breaks.

The Google kind of makes it look like this is not forested country. Here's a pix of what it actually looks like. This view of the Clearwater river is about two miles from my house.
