Ammo and component prices

Have you all taken notes on prices of bullets and ammo lately? Seems to me bullet price has gone up 50% in less than a year.

I notice in new houses built last year a lot of builders have gone to thinner guage electrical wires. Does the war have anything to do with this or is global demand for raw materials have outstripped supply?

Is it too late to stock up now? any chance for it to go back down? is it another situation similar to gasoline price?

i look for the prices to go down somewhat but dont count on it coming down to much. the price of gas has alot to do with this to. six years ago i was paying right around 11$ for a box of 270 shells and now i think thier around 16$.

China is using a lot of copper which has driven the price up dramatically. China is also the biggest factor in the rising steel costs.

What puzzles me is while cost of centerfire ammo hikes so fast but yet rimfire ammo is still at same price as it ever was ten years ago.

.22 rimfire case is also made out of brass..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Copper prices have gone to over $3.00 where it was less than a dollar. What gets me is .22 cal bullets of 69 grs cost as much or more than 168gr bullets. Also .17 cal bullets cost as much too. How does it take more to make a lighter bullet with less material?
