Going to take the 25-06 antelope hunting and just wondered what bullet you guys think I should try and load up? I don't have anything loaded up for this rifle so I am open to all ideas

My favorite hunting bullet for the 25-06 is the Speer 120gr SBT in front of H4831 , in over 40 years it has never let me down.

Almost any 100-120 bullet will work: 120 Corelokt, 120 Partition, 120 Hornady Interlock, the Speer as noted. They are all capable.

Just choose one and practice shooting at ranges up to 300 yards; know the specific trajectory at various ranges of the respective bullet you will use. And wind drift figures for the bullet at 10/20/30 MPH - you can make a chart with that range/wind info and tape it to your stock; you will know it by the end of a summer's practice.

I have 100gr BT's and 110 Accubonds. Just didn't know if there was anything better. I did very little load work up and it seems to like the accubond better. I do have some 120 partitions too i think. I will have to look.

Ive been using midway 2nds for deer and goat in my 25s out past 400. You can drop a goat with a strongly worded letter, no reason to spend a lot on the bullet.

NdIndy is right. You need only to find a bullet that will shoot good in your rifle. Any standard bullet is more than capable of killing antelope. It is hard to beat Hornady 117 grain Interlocks. I have never had any kind of rifle that would not shoot Hornady bullets real well.

Just my opinion but the 80gr TTSX are a great bullet and shoot very accurately in the 25-06. I have used this bullet on several large whitetails and it was great, shoot flat and will penetrate. Best bullet choice, but that is just my opinion. HAPPY HUNTING

The heavies seem to help a little with the wind drift which you are almost sure to encounter in antelopeland. I've had very good success with the 117 Sierra Gameking (SBT). Take a look at an exterior ballistics chart and compare the drift of a 100 vs a 117. For powder I use RE17 but IMR 4831 works pretty well also.

Its only a sample of 2 but my wife and I killed antelope at 416 and 460yds with my 25-06ai and 100nbt's. Great bullet for them.

This year I'm taking the 243ai's w/105vlds.

100g Hornady flat base, 52-53g of IMR 4350

Antelope are easy to kill. I have killed them with 7 Mags, 270's, 300 WM, 243's, 6mm Rem, and 223's.

Last antelope buck I shot was with a a 223 with a Win 55g soft point at 3050 fps muzzle velocity at 430 yards, DRT!

I plugged one a couple years ago with a 100 gr nosler bt. The bullet went in at the brisket and stopped when it ran into the hip

. The goat was DRT. Make sure you practice those longer shots. I was hunting near Hobson MT and it seems the goats know exactly what 800 yards looks like because they wouldn't let us get any closer.

From the sound of things you might should have asked which bullet "not" to use. 25-06 is such a versatile cal, it'll kill a prairie goat w just about any bullet that you can place accurately.

My custom Encore loves 100 gr. Nosler BT's in front of 53.6 gr. of H4837 Short Cut in Winchester brass with a Winchester primer, just kissing the lands.
