antenna question

i plan on making my pm3 wireless.will be using a nady 151.
housing will be either a coffee mug pvc or a flash light.
does the receiver antenna have to be exposed or can it
be inside the unit?any one who has made one similar
and who wants to post a pic that would be a big help.

Use the coffe mug, the little vent hole in the lid is great for sticking the antenna through. Want to see pics of the one I made? PM an email Address.

Extending the softwire antenna certainly helps to add range to the wireless link. It helps a lot more, however, to have the antenna dangling vertically several feet above the ground i.e. hanging in a tree or a bush, than it does to have it laying along the ground. Whatever housing you use, might want to leave a provision for a sling, etc.

I've got mine housed in a fleece hand-warmer muff that has a waist belt with a Q/R fastex type clip, very useful.
