Any 7mm-08 Ackley Shooters?

Several years ago I bought a rifle to barrel with Bob Jourdan. We did a a 7mm-08 Ackley. I never have got around to scoping it up, but am thinking about doing it before spring. Just curious if anyone else has first hand knowledge loading the round, as it's not common due to the fact that there's not a lot of capacity gain by improving the 7mm-08.

If Jourdan built it it should be a shooter. Mines not AI'ed but I shoot IMR 4350 and a 139 Hornady Interlock and its shoots very well.

Lots of powders will work but mine really shines with RL-17 and 140's and CFE-223 with 120's. Ramshot BigGame is worth mentioning as well. Start with a 7mm-08 book max and work your way up from there. I typically only see 75-100fps more than standard 7mm-08 depending on bullet weight.

I run 140's @3000 using RL-17 out of my 22" barrel with no problems. It's a 3-groove though and they typically run a little faster IME.. I've always loved the 7mm-08 but the AI version is just a bit better in my opinion. A little bit of extra velocity is never bad, but it's just a better case shape that saves me time at the reloading bench...I'll likely always have one around.
