I have been using noslers 50gr CT ballistic tips for years for coyotes. Pelt damage well ya better be good with sewing most of the time. I have started saving the pelts now and im searching for a more pelt friendly bullet. I was going to go with a 204 ruger but tonight i looked at the barnes x bullets. Being a all copper bullet and retaining all most 100% of there weight they should be a small hole in and just a tad bigger out. Anyone using these bullets and how are they on pelts. Im looking at the 50gr TTSX the 53 i believe tsx. Im really interested in the performance thanks

i've used them a bit and have killed a few coyotes with them. they do work very well but just could not get the accuarcy that is needed.

My partner uses a 22-250 and Speer 50 gr TNT hp's, they usually don't exit. It will be jello inside. I believe he says around 3500fps. He has shot lots of coyotes with this.

I've used the 45gr Barnes XLC in my Hornet, 222remmag and a bit in my son's 223wssm, for coyotes. It is usually fur friendly, even when heavy bone is hit, small hole in and out.

When I run out of the XLC's, I'll switch to TSX, most likely the 45gr as well.

thats what im thinking K-22 is that the all copper bullet should be small in and a tad bigger out.
JR right now im running the 50gr ballistic tips the 250 is running 3780 if i dont hit any bone they work great. If i hit even touch a rib or very edge of the shoulder man its a mess.

The price of coyotes is not to bad. Two buddys of mine and my self trapped/shot 30 coyotes since late December. we sold them saturday and the buyer if they had a 1 inch hole he really docked us. we averaged 19.00 a yote. the ones we trapped brought 25.00 each. the shot ones 20.00 all the way down to 3.00 so anything that will still put one down ethically with small hole is worth a try for me. Thanks for your guys time keep the thoughts/facts coming

I have a friend who is a wheelchair bound hunter, he likes to put up his own fur, he loves the speer 52gr hp at 3600. He tells me they are flop bangs, most of his shots are 200-300 yards. I like Nolser 55 bt @ 3600 I have small exits after 250 yards. I head shoot inside 200, no exit.

I shoot the 53 gr. tsx out of my umar and flat hammers them. Biggest exit was about the size of a nickel all 4 were drt. 3700 fps
