any custom ruger 77's out there?

So I've got a ruger 77 all weather in 338 federal. I don't really have any particular need for. I love my rugers though, was thinking about having a Lilja 6.5 Creedmoor barrel put on it. I know it's not a savage or a remington, but anyone else having custom work done to their rugers? Any advice or barrel preferences is much appreciated. Could be convinced to put o new stock on it without too much effort.... it's a hunting rifle, not a lot of bench shooting.

I can't help with whom to use, as I'm doing my own rebarrels on my current Ruger M77's, and my smith that did my last two passed away years ago. Shilen makes the best barrels I've used, and they offer pre-turned, pre-threaded barrels for Rugers, so that's where my money goes.

You wanting it blue-printed, or just rebarreled? Anybody could do the rebarrel job, ALMOST anybody should be able to do the blue-printing, but only a few will likely agree to do it to a Ruger.

I was just going with Lilja because that's what my gunsmith likes, I'm open to suggestions though. I'm kinda on the fence about blueprinting, but if it's up there anyway.... but no I haven't asked if he blueprints rugers.

Also this is my first rebarrel, so I don't really have a preference as long as it's one of the more reputable barrel makers.

Been about 5 years ago, but came home with a well used Ruger tang safety featherweight .270. Will have it rebarreled to 7x57 using a cheapo Midway A&B heavy contour barrel. Only other things I did was to install a Rifle Basix trigger sear ($45) and make a stock for it better suited for shooting from benchrest. The Ruger turned out to be a decent shooter once I found the right reload for it.

Was a tang safety 243 when I got it re barreled and stocked now in 7-08

Great rifle rediculous lay accurate with almost no work on loads it loves 140 noslers, it's a ershaw 1-9.25 24" SS #3.5 contour, they are all I use.
These are the first 9 reloads through it target on low left was my shoot and clean with some 139 Hornady stuff

Yeah all my 77's have been solid shooters right out of the gate. Idunno why you don't hear more guys singing their praises.

I made several customs out of Ruger 77 tang safety model. Several 243 Varmint with Hart barrels, and one 243 AI with a 26" Hart 12 twist in 243 AI, and had a McMillen Hunter class stock inletted for it.

Weird thing is that even when these rifles are customized, if you make the decision to sell them, they are very hard to sell, and you recoup less of your money compared to a Remington or Sako.

It seems that the attraction is that they are less expensive, and that does not mean that they will not shoot well.

I think that might be because most folks think, when they see a custom Remington 700, that someone wanted to make a good rifle even better. Folks might be prone to believe, when they see a rebarreled Ruger - since it's so uncommon, that someone was trying to fix a problem.

That is exactly what I did and now I have hunted at times with a PacNor barreled 6.5-284 for the past 15 years or so. It began life new as a plain old 284 Win that keyholed every bullet it ever shot, so I had it converted to 6.5-284 and duplicated the factory barrel contour. It works.

A friend of mine years ago had a plain jane Ruger 77R in 243 well he shot the daylights out of it and then just had the barrel replaced with a Shilen 243 barrel, I think he might have had to have the stock opened up just a bit, but it worked out well for him.
