any good plans for a adjustable shooting rest

Sinclair Intl. is hard to beat for the money on their rests, but if you want what professionals use get ready to spend 800 or so on a front mechanical

End use is important.

F-class and other shooting competitions usually don't allow you to use a rest that holds the rifle at both ends. You can use separate rests, but have to maintain contact with your shoulder. Those shooters often use a good front rest like the Sinclair.

But if you just need a rest to reduce felt recoil while your sighting in, or generally at the range, there's all kind of different rifle rests that will keep you from developing the dreaded "Flinch". See Midway, Cabelas, or any of the internet supplier for different ideas.

Or did we miss your question, and you were really looking for full shooting bench plans, that you could build, to put a Rifle Rest on?

well the car jack rest is more what I was thinking of .
just looking for something a homemade. not a bench.
I am a carpenter but I lack emagination.shoulder guard by mtm. looks like a winner . out of hard wood it would look even better.

Just an idea....take a look at some pictures of different benchrests that are sold by various vendors like Cabelas or Midway USA, etc, that might give you ideas of what you might want to build. If ya wanna see one close up, just drive to one of the stores that sells what you like and take a first hand look at the details that the pictures might not offer. I've seen a couple of guys get pretty darn creative with piece of scrap iron, etc and make their own. Some don't look very pretty, but can be darn effective depending on what you are making the rest for.
