I have a spotlight but i need to get a red lens for it, and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how to make one with some type of red tape or something. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks
If you can find some Dychem, it is a layout fluid used by machinists, it works very well. Brush on a coat and let it dry, if it's not dark enough just put another coat on. Works great!
Some of the auto parts stores sell a tape that you can repair broken tail lights on a car with. A roll is only about $5 and there is enough to do a couple of lights. I did one of my spotlights with it and it worked great.
IF YOUR IN A PINCH---ORANGE SURVEYORS TAPE WORKS.. BUT U HAVE TO HAVE A STRONG LIGHT TO GET ANY DISTANCE -- PLUS ITS REMOVEABLE SO U DONT RUIN YOUR LIGHT.
OR FOR $12 BUCKS AT WALMART U CAN GET A LIGHT WITH REMOVEABLE AMBER AND RED LENS
LOOK IN SPORTSMAN'S GUIDE ALSO SOME GOOD DEALS THERE TOO.
You can also use the transparent, colored report covers you would find in the school supply section. you can get a pack of about 6 different colors for about a buck. Rhino
