Looking to do some urban post control of the flying rat variety. I'm looking for something accurate and quiet. Im seeing stuff from 150-5000 dollars.
I can't afford or justify the high end stuff.
Wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with this gun or something in it's price range.

Several guys at our club shoot Benjamin Marauders. Usually around $500 +/- depending on the barrel and stock choice. Quiet and accurate! If our air rifle program kicks off again that's what I'll be looking at.

I have an Umarex Gauntlet in .22, awesome shooting air rifle. Super accurate and I have shot it out to 100 yards with quarter size groups. If you have any questions about it let me know.

That would do the trick. I shoot a BSA Tech Star that cost only a bit more that is a tad faster but Inn the same class. If the one you get isn't shrouded/suppressed I recommend you buy a moderator/suppressor. They are OTC no tax stamp and they really work well.

Look at Pyramid Air for more choices and information. I got my moderator from Air guns Arizona.

Get the Gauntlet or the Gauntlet 2. High shot count per fill and very consistent shot to shot do to it being a regulated gun. I have both and the gauntlet is a great gun for the money. My marauder is a great gun but in a .25 tuned for coyotes. If I am hunting squirrel or rabbits it's the Gauntlet.

I have 2 PCP's. The Benjamin Cayden 22 (great rifle but heavy & loud if not suppressed) & a Airforce condor SS .25... I would also suggest a look at the the Airforce Talon..

BTW, The Airforce line up is made in Texas! so thats a + in my book..

I have 2 PCP air rifles mostly used for squirrel eradication. Both are very accurate and very quiet.

The smaller rifle is an Air Force Talon SS in .22. I have a 2-7x32 Hawke scope mounted along with a green laser for the close in shots.

The other is a Hatsan Bullboss in .25 caliber. I mounted an Athlon Talon BTR 4-14x44 and doped it to 80 yards.

Whatever you get I recommend a shrouded barrel to keep it quiet and also shoot pellets that are heavy enough to stay subsonic. If not it will be as loud as a .22 rifle. If you get something that needs a moderator (suppressor) check here:

A good budget PCP is the Air Venturi Avenger which is REGULATED with dual pressure gauges. That will provide you with more control over pellet speed which translates into more consistent accuracy and a higher controlled shot count. They also make an adaptor so you can add a DonnyFL suppressor if you want.

I think the Gauntlet line has a regulated model also and an adaptor is available for the DonnyFL suppressors.

When you get it set up take time to dope the scope. As you can imagine pellets will have quite an arc so if you use a second focal plane scope pick a magnification power and set it up. Once you do that you can take a range finder and your shots will be spot on. This is the .22 set up at 5x. I have found the JSB domed pellets to be the most accurate in both of my rifles.

I have an umarex origin with a baffle kit from hajimoto and a suppressor for around 400 dollars and it is definitely quite enough for urban use at least I haven’t any complaints. Also it comes with a pump that is decent otherwise a compressor would quickly run up price. I would not hesitate to shoot a coyote with it within 75 yards. It’s not regulated but I can get about 45 shots within 2 in at 50. I would watch some hajimoto vids on it! Good luck!

I have a "few" PCPs. From .177 up to .30 caliber. First was a 22 Marauder and it gets used almost daily still. It has killed literally thousands of vermin, QUIETLY. If you are mainly shooting tree rats perhaps a .177 will do, even quieter than the .22. The Mrods are an easy gun to tune and work on. And parts are available from Crosman should you decide you want to tinker if that's your thing. I have 2 BSA PCPs that were purchased just before Umarex bought BSA, let me just add that Umarex customer service and parts at least from my experience is lacking.
I built a .25 Mrod that shot 52-grain cast slugs at over 100-FPE that I used to kill pigs with. I extended the shroud and added baffles and it was relatively quiet considering the amount of air being used.
IF you are going to shoot your PCP a lot, get a compressor, and a tank if you can spend the extra sheckles. It's only money. And pellets are pretty much available compared to powder ammo so you can put in plenty of trigger time.

I use a Benjamin marauder field and target model in .22. Shooting JSB 18.1 grain pellets at around 24 foot pounds of muzzle energy and I put a DonnyFL Tanto on it to hush it down more. Taken a lot of squirrels with the rifle.

JMO, that was a wise choice. The .177s are an accurate little rifle. If you got the Benjamin pump and need the small o-ring when you need to rebuild it (usually can't find them locally) send me a pm as I have some here in my kit. When pumping with a hand pump, pump SLOWLY to keep the heat down and your o-rings will last longer.
