Any recommendations for FACTORY .223 hog/deer ammo

This is a little out of my area of expertise so I figured I would ask you guys. Shooting a 16" .223 with a 1/7 twist. Must be (fairly) readily available factory ammo. I am thinking my 55gr Hornady vmax coyote loads might not be up to the task.

Federal fusion, remington hog hammer, Barnes vortx and the winchester 64gr offerings seem to be on the shelfs quite a bit around here and all would hold up well on hogs I think.

I just found two boxes of Hornady 223 Superformance Match 75gr HPBT in my storage room. Any experience with those?

I have used Hornady VMax 55 gr on hogs. My R15 shoots them very well. I have dropped hogs up to 200lb with a well placed shot behind the ear. I have confidence in gun and ammo to get job done.

I really like the Barnes Vortex 55gr TSX. This bullet mushrooms well and really holds together. Here are some pics. The bullet was recovered from the opposite shoulder just under the hide of the deer which was shot quartering to. Same 16" barrel as you.

I find that the Remington 62 Grain Core-Lokt works very well.
With that said, though, with any light round shot placement is critical.

JCS, If you are asking about 223 v-max rounds. I use 53gr v-max and CF&E powder. Howa rifle-Vortex scope.1/10 twist? I shot many coyotes this year with this combo. None of them when over 30 yards, most folded with the shot. Shot one yesterday at 350 yards. I shot over it on the first shot at 200 yards. I thought it was farther away than it really was. It went the 30 yards (hit it a little far back)

With that twist rate, I'd say the 70 gr TSX. 2muchgun has had tremendous luck with them in deer out of his AR. Lots of energy transfer.

I'm heading to SC the first week of March for a hog hunt on a WMA. I'm taking my 1/7 twist Stag AR-15 and Silver State Armory ammo loaded with 70gr Barnes TSX bullets. I think the 70gr TSX is the ultimate 5.56 bullet for medium sized game. Silver State Armory no longer shows the 70gr TSX load but the 55gr is still in stock. I picked up 10 boxes of the 70gr in December when they were on sale. Glad I did

I shot the Silver State Armory 5.56 70gr TSX ammo through my 1x7 twist Stag 16" rifle sunday. I was getting less than MOA groups. Leaving tonight for South Carolina hog hunt on public ground.

Also, Nosler is showing 890+ boxes of SSA 70gr TSX ammo in stock. They must have just completed a production run. It's [beeep] good factory ammo.
