Anybody here from Arkansas

I live in NE Arkansas and I am looking for someone to teach me the ins and outs of coyote hunting.

Will be willing to pay a guide fee, pick up expenses, etc to learn from someone, not a video or book.

Whow! BKS buddy!

You don't need to pay these guys to teach you hunt...all these guys would gladly help for free. That's why we're here! Just ask any questions you might have and read thru the past posts and you will find about anything you will need to know. Do a search for LBL Hunt and check the "Hunting in the East" forum, too. Good Luck and Welcome to the board! Nikonut

I am not from your area...(I live in western Arkansas near Ft. Smith) but will help all I can with information...and if you want to drive over about next Sept - Feb.....I will take you out there and show you what little I know about it....stay in touch.

Joe

I like the site, marked it in my favorites and may just take you up on the offer this fall.

I just would really like someone to show me how this is done, I am just recently getting back into hunting after about a 13 yr abscence, only experience is some small game hunting and deer hunting

It is new, but we got it started /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Anyway, you will be welcome to go...keep in touch, and I will help all I can...You are in the right place for info, this board is a wonderful source!! Don't be shy, jump in there and ask questions....knowledgeable folks will answer...

Don't hesitate to take Joe up on his offer to show you the little tiny bit that he knows, and with the little tiny bit I know we can get you started.
I am curious as to where in NE AR. I grew up in Paragould and spent several years on the PD there before I moved to Ft. Smith area in 1976. Began calling in Greene County in the mid sixties and been at it off and on with varing degrees of success ever since. Have not hunted north east since the early eighties.

I work in that armpit of AR, West Memphis, and live just outside it. I have a badge and they call me Friday, just kidding I'm a Police Detective Sgt with WMPD. I ve got 13 yrs in LE and had just about given up hunting to chase bad guys. Got back into it a year or so ago and have always wanted to try coyote hunting, only ones I ever shot at were just chance sightings. Ft Smith is not to far to drive to get a chance to learn. Im glad I found this sight and look forward to learning alot more from everyone here. Ive been to paragould a lot to go to George Ray's Drag Strip.

Now if I could only figure out how I want to scope my AR, Id be set., haha

Arky and BKS and OZ Charlie,

Sounds like a very serious coyote posse starting there! You fellows all need to make plans for the LBL Hunt in February. There are several guys here from southern Illinois and Mo that would be more than happy to show you the ropes. This is a slack time of year to find most of them on here though. I'm in cenral Illinois so not entirely out of the question.

BKS, that AR needs a 3x9 or 4x in a bright scope. You won't need to shoot more than 150yds or you're doing something wrong! LOL

Got questions? Ask away! Nikonut

Looks like a group of Arkies here.

BKS, you don't live in the armpit, I DID when I lived in Blytheville!! I guess maybe you live in one armpit, I lived in the other. I always said that if they were going to give the world an enema, they'd stick the tube in Blytheville.

Anyway, on to hunting. I spend quite a bit of time in Craighead, Greene and Sharp counties hunting fox and coyote. My son and I own ~125 acres up in Sharp County (Ravenden area) that we coyote and deer hunt on. Green county has some public land north of Paragould that we do good on, and I have access to some private land around Jonesboro that we hunt on at times. The WM area doesn't have much to offer as far as public land goes, but you aren't too far from places like Dagmar and Wattensaw. Also Cache River NWR and White River NWR should offer some good hunting.

I replied to your post about a scope on the Varminter over in the firearms section. AR's is all that my son and I use for varmints and predators. Good luck on your selection, and I might need to check this forum out a little more often. I usually just check the Firearms forum, sometimes the pictures.

See ya.

Hey Mr. C. fancy seeing you here.

Hey there BKS, I live in the northest corner of central Arkansas. I don't know all this armpit stuff though? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Yep, yoter...

I've known ole Hyden for probably close to 20 years.

I don't let many people know that, though... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

Joe, I don't know if you are the right one but their can't be two of you! Don't know if you remember me but if you are the right Joe, I trained you at Sniper School class in Mountain Home with Jason. Do you remember me now? Used to shoot against you way back in the 3-gun matches.
