Anybody manufactures complete .17 Fireball rifles anymore?

Remington's website doesn't show the .17 Fireball as available in any of their rifles. I thought it was a standard cambering for the Model Seven but don't see it listed. Anybody else make one?

A dozen or so years ago they could not keep those things on the shelf. They were flying off the shelves and so was the ammo. 5 or so years later sales were about as hot and heavy as week old flat beer. What happened I dont know but it was a pity. A fine round it is in my opinion.

All 17 caliber rifles have a history of selling hot at the beginning and then fading in sales. Not everyone wants a 17, and the market is relatively limited.

Those who do want them are passionate about the caliber, but they are relatively few in numbers compared to other more popular cartridges.

As to the question, Cooper and custom built rifles or a used factory rifle are probably your only choices today.

yes @Rustydust it is a fine round for varmint hunting for sure. I have one, a Predator model from Remington that comes with a fluted barrel, and it has always been a special gun to shoot. I was just curious if they were still being made.

I've been thinking of selling mine for a few years now, I keep going back and forth about it. Unfortunately the lack of groundhogs around me means it hardly gets used. I have a handful of groundhog guns that get used less and less often and I can't decide which one might make sense to sell off. My Savage model 10 in 243 and model 16 in 223 or my Browning 22 Hornet generally get the work when I go and I don't like a safe queen sitting around year after year.

I bought one (barrel)from a gent here while I was waiting on my 17 Remington barrel to arrive. I am trying to shoot all of my 17HH ammo up so I play with the 17 Fireball more.
25’s may group just a little better, but not enough to make me run them. I keep the 20’s for the small case and the 25’s and up for the big case.

I had one when they first came out (Remington 700 CDL), sure wish I would have kept it. It was a shooter right out of the box.

17 Fireball is one of the calbers that I want to get in a Contender carbine barrel. With a plastic stock the whole thing will weigh less than my 22LR.

Funny you say that, I just had a CZ rechambered to 17 FB. I have several predator rifles and too many just sit in the safe. I may sell the 17 and a few others myself.
