Anyone bowhunt Coyotes?

Does anyone in this forum predator hunt with a bow? I was bowhunting one time and saw a bobcat and shot at him. He was so fast he jumped the string and was 3 feet away before the arrow hit where he was. I would like to start bow hunting Coyotes.

Now the way I hear it, RobbScottsdale calls them in to about 35 yds. before he sticks 'em. Maybe you need to work on your technique a little more. Gotta' watch that wind.

Lot's of fun, but not a lot of dead coyotes. I've gotten three with my bow now. I just let them keep coming until they are almost in my lap before I draw, then hope I can check them up with a lip squeak before they flare off too far. Seems to work better for me than trying to get drawn before they are in range. Last one actually stopped and started coming back again for the lip squeak. Put the arrow through him at about 15 yards when he started getting second thoughts again. Bowhunting coyotes is definitely a challenge, but when it all comes together, it sure is neat!

I'm sure it is very fulfilling on the rare occasion someone can actually harvest a coyote with a bow. Seems like an exercise in futility to me though. Harvesting mature coyotes would be rarer yet. Every unsuccessful attempt would further serve to educate your quarry I would think, and those attempts will probably be many. Nothing against bowhunting but this is an obvious reality.
