Anyone ever bought a Tromix Tactical 20?

I bought one of Tony's sledgehammers in 458 SOCOM, he's a great guy and a terrific smith when it comes to building AR's. You won't regret dealing with him.

You're going to have a hard time finding anyone that has one of my Tactical Twenty's since I have only made 5 or 6 of them to date. You are more likely to find guys with the SledgeHammers. Following is a rough breakdown of the quantities made to date.

17 Mach IV 2ea, 17 Rem 12ea, 20 Tact 6ea, .223 5ea, 6ppc 1ea, 30/221 1ea, .338x39 1ea, 44 AutoMag 1ea, 44 Rem Mag 6ea, 440 CorBon 12ea, 458 SOCOM 40ea, 475 Tremor 1ea, 50 AE 200ea.

There will be a large article in the March issue of Small Caliber News magazine on a Troimx Tact 20. You may want to pick it up.

Tony I seen where you are going to have a 204 Ruger in a AR up and running in a short time. I have been slobbering to get a AR. I am looking and have just about talked myself into buying one. I have one hurdle....my wife. Will see how high I can jump. hehe Randy

Tony, ya mean I'm only one of forty lucky souls to have a 458, whats wrong with the hunters today, man there is no better 150 yd rifle built than the 458 SOCOM and in an AR it goes beyond great to truly awesome! just wish I had the cash for a tackhammer...... hey do you take food stamps?

The .458 SOCOM has never sold very well. There are a lot of guys that need to buy ammo off the shelf at their local gun shop, so the 50AE steals the show in that regard. The guys can all crow about the .499 LW, 50 Beowulf, and .458 Socom, but they are all second fiddle to the 50AE when the average guy decides to pull out his wallet. I expect my sales of .204 Rugers to outstrip all .20 Tacticals in about 30 days for this reason as well. Reloaders don't realize that they are really a very small minority out there.

Tony, I saw the Tactical 20 on your web site and really like what Iv'e read. How long would it take to get one? How much does it weigh? What's the difference in speed between the new 204 and the 20 Tactical? Do you also sell dies for 20T? kyray.

I was mentally preparing myself for a 20 tac until the 204 ruger came along. I too reload everything I shoot. From what I have seen, read and heard about [however I could be corrected] the 204 and 20 tac are the same thing. I foreee the 204 brass becoming easy to get in the next couple of months. Randy

They are pretty much the same thing as far as performance goes but require different brass. The Tac 20 is formed from 223 brass. The 204 requires either 204 brass or 222Rem Mag brass.

If you reload it is a no-brainer, go with the Tac 20. If you need a factory load, go for the 204.
