Mine started acting up this weekend where the number keys input the wrong numbers and the scale won't zero an empty pan, instead it starts the calibration process over.......Since its past it's one year warranty RCBS's only suggestion has been "go buy a new one"...... I'm not spending $350 on another one after seeing it fail after such little use when the competition sells American made units with a lifetime warranty...

I guess before I spend the money on a completely different unit have any of you had this problem and found a way to repair it? I have tried separating the 2 sections and applying dielectric grease to the connections with no success.

Thank you for any help you can provide
Jon

Unfortunately I've called them twice and was told by both reps I spoke with, go buy a new dispenser for $200 and if it still doesn't work send in the entire unit and we will replace it. I don't feel I should have to spend another $200 on a unit I already spent $350 on. This is a well known issue with these machines and they are failing to make things right. I understand it only came with a 1 year warranty but when you put out a mass quantity of a defected product you should make the situation right no questions asked. I've also emailed back & forth with 3 other repsand that's been an even more upsetting experience.

I've wanted one of these units for a few years now. But, I keep holding off because I hear stories of the failures.

All I can say is good luck. I agree with you, I wouldn't put any more money into it if it failed after a year.

The scale on mine no longer calibrates and it is currently way off. Got the same answer, "buy a new scale". Thinking about buying a whole new unit in a different brand. Who makes the best unit these days?

Thats odd..I have had mine forever and no problems..Sounds like you broke it,lol....Where do you store it ? I leave mine on the bench and never move it except to dump out powder,etc..Never been unplugge except if the power went out..must be I got a good one..I know several guys that have them and never hear a complaint..

I just asked my buddy who I know that has one and asked him how long he's had/used his and he said he's used it for more than several years, has loaded thousands upon thousands rounds of ammo with it, but he couldn't remember exactly when he got it, and he's never had a hitch with it.

This doesn't sound right, RCBS has been good to me for over 8 years now. I only needed a couple replacement parts for my Turret press, due to me dropping something from a shelf above the press, and they sent me the parts free of charge. I have loaded well over 10,000 rounds with my ChargeMaster 1500 in the past 8 years and never a problem. RCBS sent me the info on my ChargeMaster to reprogram it to weigh the loads faster.

I thought about buying one when they came out but my Redding powder measure throws so close I decided not. I can throw within a tenth with most powders. The long sticks I will throw to pan then scale and trickle the rest. Now there is super short cut on 7828 and 4831 when you can find it. Father inlaw has chargemaster and loves it but he doesn't have powder measure. Powder measure is another option if ya don't want to spend more coin.. RR
