Anyone finding Morel Mushrooms yet?

Been hearing of guys finding a few around here already. The boy & I took a walk today but had no luck. I think we need some warm nights yet to get them to pop. Nights have been to cool up to this point. I usually find the big yellow ones on my place & those seem like the last ones to come up. Definitely plenty of moisture in the ground right now from these last few big rains we've had. That 1st batch of Morels every year just makes my mouth water thinking about it! No better eating than fresh fried Morels, in my opinion.

I like to dip mine in cracker crust batter & fry 'em up. I havn't seen any this year as of yet. It's been quite cold & not many warms days so far.
 
It's been slow around here in Southeast MO.,As Ricky mentioned the ground has been too cold and it seems the Mushrooms just aren't popping up like they normaly do each year?We need some good hot humid days and plenty of sun shine to get things going!

The Wife usually cleans up the Morels by cutting them in half,rinsing them off then soaking them in salt water for a while then a final rinse and laying them on a towel to dry.She mixes a bowl up with a few fresh eggs well beaten with salt and pepper then dips the mushrooms into the egg mixture then dips the Mushroom halfs in flour and pan fries then golden brown! Mmmmmmm Good

We've even grilled Morels with Bar-BQ sauce outside.....all this talk is making me hungry!
