Anyone have a Remington SPR94 Combination Rifle?

+1 on the kick with the big tube. I went out on a limb and got the Baikal version without knowing alot about them. I'm pretty happy so far. Handloading definately helps me get the accuracy I need. I found out quickly, these are field guns, not range guns. The rifle barrel heats up pretty quickly. Mine is 223Rem/12ga. I want to do more patterning with the shotgun and the screw in chokes. I have found several good shooting loads for the 223 from v-max bullets with full strength loads to the Bergers and Varmint Grenades with reduced loads. One inch at 100yds is definately not a problem for my combo. The scope mounts are a set of dovetail grooves, and the gun is quite heavy(which is appreciated when using the 12ga.). The fit and finish are great, although the rifle trigger is not match grade by any means. It just made sense as a predator gun for my terrain. Now I don't have to choose between the rifle and shotgun. Mine was originally purchased for night hunting, but gets the nod for all predator hunting.

I have one in 12ga/.223 and it's not bad for the $$$. They are made by Baikal in Russia and imported by REM. You can get other Baikal combos at EAA. It is not Benelli for sure, but the price is right. You will have to do trigger work unless your can live with an 8-lb pull. Great starter gun for a kid. I have an UltraDot30 on mine that works well out to about 100 yards. The problem with using a scope is that when you sight in the rifle at 100 yards the shotgun will be a couple of inches high at 40-50 yards.

I've used it 5-6 times this season and got one coyote with the .223 and lost two I hit with the 12ga using 3 inch Dead Coyote shot through a Briley extra full choke which is the only one I could find that would fit the threads. I also have a Baikal in .22mag/20ga which is a really fun to shoot. I bought the .22/20ga for hunting fox and bobcats in heavy cover with an occasional opportunity for a longer shot with the rifle. Same with the 12ga/.223 except I use it for coyotes. I think that the Savage Mod 24 is a better gun if you want to spend $200-$300 more. Oh, BTW I have pulled the wrong trigger more than once when it got exciting. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Go for it!

I have the Spartan SPR94 in 12/.308. Ditto on pulling the wrong trigger. I accidentally pulled the rifle trigger on a running coyote at 35 yards. Needless to say I missed. I did nail a hen Turkey the season before last at 20 yards. I purchased Trulock extended chokes for mine. Three of them Full, Ex-Full and .690 turkey. The longer choke tubes work better with tighter chokes and larger shot.

For some reason Remington does not show the larger caliber versions on their web site. Not sure if you can get them anymore.

Anyone wanting to get rid of a Remington SPR94 .223/12 gauge ?

I can do cash or I have a Rem 700 LVSF in .223 for trade.

Thanks

Woodog, the SPR94 has an adjustment screw at the end of the forearm between the barrels. I'm told it is designed to get the barrels to have a common point of aim at the desired distance you want. You may want to look into it. So far, I haven't had to touch mine, but I haven't done a whole lot of pattern work yet either /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif.

they do have a screw but i use the open sights for the 12 . the 06 kicks quite well . lol but im a big guy. i use mine for deer. ill sell mine with the scope - lookin at some black rifles /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Last chance, anyone have one they are looking to sell or trade?

I guess we are all just too happy with them to want to get rid of them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I was told that only one shipment got through customs the rest have been held up in customs for two or three years due to some safty issues and not passing the ATF drop test. Since they are made in Serbia or Russia they are imports even though they are made for Remmington so all the import standards apply

I have a BRNO combination gun. It's probably an unknown brand in America since it's a german rifle. I love it so far. It has a lot of kills on its name. But I've never pulled the wrong trigger. When a fox or a cat comes out, I can pull the right trigger in a fraction of a second without thinking. The more you shoot with it, the better you know your gun.

OK.
Purchased one. My local gun shop had to have it shipped in fro the East coast somewhere. I pick it up tomorrow.

I now need to look into a holographic or red dot scope for it.

I am leaning towards the Burris Fastfire red dot for $170. It comes with a piccatinny mounting plate. Will this work with the SPR94 dovetails?

I have one but I don't like the dovetail grooves so I had mine drilled and tapped for scope bases. when you shoot the 3"mag there is alot of recoil and I didn't think the dovetail would hold thru. I also put millet rings on mine that have open sight on top of the rings. I sight the rifle in and then I sight the shotgun in. I don't want to be looking through the scope when the shotgun goes off.
