Ok so I've heard they weren't so great...I had a guy at work tell me today that he and his buddy bought packages of 4-16x40 scopes with rings and love them. One is on a .223 and the other is on a 7mm mag. He claims they have held zero for 2 years now. Seems iffy. Any input?

Great advice. You can always take it back if you get it from Wal-mart.

I have one on my AR for 3 months now with no issues at all. Going to put one on my .308 next week too.

Lol I have oneand I wish I woulda found a better use for my 75 bucks. Its goin on my daughters cricket. 22 since she seemed to like the light up reticle. The thing was blurry at the highest setting not real clear and didn't hold.much of a zero.

I've had a 4-16x40 CenterPoint from Wal-Mart for well over 2 years and it has been mounted on at least 5 different centerfire rifles, from 257R to 30-06. It has withstood quite a few rounds downrange with my target shooting.

However, it is not a scope that stays on a rifle very long. I have no gripes with its adjustments, tracking and etc., but of all my low end scopes, it probably has the poorest optics for clarity, brightness and etc.

I have one on a .22 cal air rifle I bought at Wal Mart. The scope is just a 4X and came with the air gun, so I thought I would mount it up. Maybe it's just the model of scope, but this one is junk. Very foggy and the crosshairs broke at 57 shots. They are still somewhat intact, but they are separated in the "center point". It's still on the gun and I still hit stuff with it, but I wouldn't buy one again. Lots of better scopes in the same price bracket.

I have one on my 7 mag has held up for over 1000 rounds not the clearest, but for a budget scope with Target knobs it works well. Have shot out past 1200 yrds when dialed back down always returns to zero.

Out to 1200 yards sounds alright to me. I like mine enough to buy another, and will get a sunshade when they have them in stock.
