Anyone have experience with Remington 700 SPS ADL?

I'm going to start hunting big game more serious and want more fire power. I'm set on 7mm mag.

I like the idea of the M700 due to the huge aftermarket for them allowing me to get into a rifle sooner rather than later and I can upgrade what I feel necessary as the budget allows. I'm going to try and keep my eye out for a used 700 but in the mean time I was wondering if anyone has experience with the SPS ADL models, the entry level ones. I'm mainly wondering about accuracy. I obviously don't expect a tack driver but I would like to be able to take it hunting with confidence.

If I went this route, I would probably change everything but the action. I don't think you can get into a new M700 action for what these sell for.

For what its worth, I will be shooting handloads.

as far as i no.....an sps and an adl are 2 different models... i believe the sps replaced the adl. the adl has a blind mag were the sps is a hinged floorplate... its a perfect platform for a custom build, as well a great hunting rifle

it should shoot the same... i dont think remington dose anything different between models except stocks finishes and features.... but as far as a whole the sps is the new day remmy adl... with the sps u get the floorplate and with the adl you get the option to use open sights... as the are taped on the barrel and can be taken off for scope mounting...

The synthetic ADL is exactly the SPS minus the floor plate. They are still made, new, as 'special runs' My wife has a stainless one in 7-08. Its a shooter. we got ours at Sportsmans for $435 OTD.
