Anyone having luck in Washington?

bearmanric,
Yes, I have hunted the quilomene for two years. Thats where I got hooked on the sport. My first time out I had a coyote coming in from my left and one sneaking up from behind. I didn't know of the one behind me. He ended up blowing my cover and I lost both. Since then I have returned many times, got many return howls, and have called up within 300yrds+ two other coyotes. I would like to find some new ground.

Uncle Tom , I went to that area once , called all day and shot 4 coyotes , called in 5 , they are spooky up there , most of the ones i shot hung up at 200 or better .Pretty good drive for me so i mostly call closer to home , its more productive close by anyways . Jerry .

Hi, The Quilomene covers a large area with access by many different means including boat. It gets alot of pressure during big game seasons and bird hunting. After the main seasons it cools off a little. But then it's tougher getting over the pass for you. Have you tried the Yakima Firing Center? You have too take a little class and watch a video then sign in. I haven't done the class or hunted there for many years but plan to and know people who do.

I've hunted the Yakima Firing range. My access card isn't up to date but my success rate there wasn't any better than the Quilomene so I just kept trying the Quil. I did go in by boat once. That was cool except when I finaly hiked up over the top of this hill there were two 4x4 rigs. That seems to be my biggest problem. I keep running in to people who are doing anything but call'en predators.
The snow doesn't stop me, infact I think I prefer snow. I hope to get over there a lot this winter

Hi, Bummer, kinda like the secret fishing hole. Well there are still places to go in the area. A little scouting might pay off.

Sorry guys but I think we're all out of luck.
By now Jerry and Curt have shot every yote in the state except for one and he's hiding behind a "NO HUNTING WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION" sign. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hi, You are probably right. I'm glad nobody else knows about the four out my back door. They have been known to come to the door once in a while. Yes there is a posted sign here too.

I live right next door to the yakima training center and hunt it quite a bit I also hunt all the surrounding foothills to a varying degree of success
