I am having a hard time finding a place in NE Ohio(some where close to Newton Falls) that will take a gun shipped from out of state to them..They are saying it needs to come from another FFL dealer what the heck? Here is how the law read's and i quote..
Shipping Legalities
Federal Law requires that all modern firearms be shipped to a holder of a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL) only. The recipient must have an FFL; however the sender is not required to have one. Any person who is legally allowed to own a firearm is legally allowed to ship it to an FFL holder for any legal purpose (including sale or resale).
I have no idea why i am having such a hard time???????

Can who ever is shipping it to you send it from an FFL? It seems that that would solve the problem. As I don't believe that an FFL holder is required to accept delivery not knowing who sent it, what it is.. so on... If it were to get there and something not be right then he probably has a government sized ball of red tape to deal with.

So it is taking the gun that i was buying at a fair price close to what i would pay for it locally because these ffls are now gauging people on the transfer fee's...

Is there some kind of state law they're hampered by? I've never heard of such a thing and I've been shipping guns all over for years.

I dont think so...I called 2 places today that i deal with and they said it had to be ffl to ffl i was like what the heck? Why..One of the response was like how do i know its not stolen i was like what the heck would it matter? Meaning how would the ffl dealer be able to tell? I think what is about is i didnt buy the gun from them so they are giving me a hard time only thing i can figure...None the less i am threw dealing with them after today..

Not my business but if $50 was all I was saving on buying a USED gun over NEW I would buy the new, unless of course there is a special reason to buy the used one.

I am not going to spell the deal out to you no offense but it was probably all total about 100 savings now wack another 30 off that and it does not make the deal so sweet anymore.

I have had private owners send me stuff before i don't get this crap..I will call other ffl dealers tomorrow and get to the bottom of it..

im guessing the rifle is coming from out of state? if its in state you dont need a FFL at all it can be sent straight from him to you

There is no Federal requirement and no state requirements that I know of that require any firearm to be shipped from an FFL. A handgun has to be received by an FFL even instate, a long gun has to be received by an FFL on interstate shipments.
