Anyone making a laminate stock for the Savage Axis?

Does anyone know of a company that is making a reasonably priced laminate stock for the Savage Axis?

Boyd's is not. I did a Google search, but no results for the Axis.

I'm thinking of doing a winter brush camo pattern on the factory stock, but then I want another stock for the rest of the year.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

That's the board thing about the axis rifle is there isn't any upgrade stocks. I'm not even sure if a regular barrel would fit the reciever or if its different. I'd call savage and just see about ordering an extra factory stock or maybe one of their camo stocks

Given the popularity of the Axis line, I'm surprised no makers have jumped on the bandwagon to supply aftermarket stocks. Interesting since Boyds and others have stocks for other rifles in a similar price category.

I'd have ordered a camo stock originally, but I have the stainless Axis and there was no stainless/camo stock combo available, they only came with the black stock which is perfectly fine until it snows. . .

Same barrels as any other savage, but youre up the creek for stocks. Ive seen some sel mades, but no aftermaket.

HUH! What do you mean.

Savage does not sell one, it comes with a new stock only. Now the lawyer part, If I sell a stock and have the customer use his lug, you hope he is smart and install it before he goes to shoot the rifle.

This is the best I could find on the web. That lug mates to the corresponding void in the action.

OK, so why can't an aftermarket stock maker just add a recoil lug to their stock? As far as I can see, it's a piece of aluminum about 1x 1 x .25 thick.

Why would this be an issue?

Thats only one thing. The trigger gaurd, the mag latch, the screws and the hook in back of the mag (the wood is not strong enough) are some thing to think about.

No one said a manufacturer "can't" add the recoil lug, just that none currently does. In fact, the recoil lug might be able to be removed and placed into the replacement stock.

However the previous points above might also present more obstacles.
