Anyone on here use ESEE knives?

I have 2. Good knives with a seemingly very good heat treat. Mine sharpen easily and hold a decent edge.

The paint or coating (or whatever it is) chips after a while.....

I have a few. An Izula, a couple Candiru, and a 4. They hold up very well for me. I have edc'd my Izula for two years now. I strop it every few days to keep its razor sharp edge. They are some hard working knives I would recommend to anyone.

I have a couple, an Izula II and a 4 and really like both of them. I've cleaned a couple elk and several deer and antelope with them and haven't been disappointed.

I have the junglas, esee 3,4,5 and the izula fire ant.
The 3 and 4 IMO are the best all around, I primarily use my esee 3, I sandblasted the coating off and used gun bluing on the blade. I clean and skin game, baton fire wood, cut food, etc.... IMO they are very good durable knives.

I used the izula to clean the deer I shot yesterday. The only bad thing I found about the knives is the fat gave me a fit trying to get it out of the coating. Other than that they are a great buy.

Not ever had the companion.... It looks very similar to the esee 5, with the high saber grind. Versus the flat grind of the esee 4... The 5 seemed to be more of a chopper and lacked some control of the blade rather than a all purpose knife that I was looking for. IMO the companion would most likely be very similar to the esee 5
