Anyone own the new Ruger sr-22 yet?

I'm thinking of progressing into AR style of rifles and see the new AR look alikes for Rem and Ruger. I like the idea of starting out with the 22LR for the low cost ammo.

Any options on the SR-22?

Thanks,
Mike

The sr-22 ain't an ar style rifle. It only has an ar pistol-grip style stock. It has standard 10-22 fire controls, not ar style, and no ar type mag release..... Still a fun little booger.

The Ruger is a time proven system and there are no better 22 magazines out there with high capacity versions available. The SR22 is an interesting model. The flash hider threads are 1/2X28 which will accept a 22 suppressor. An interesting gun that is on my must have list.

The S&W 15-22 mags are no slouches.... And I think that just maybe, the barrel could be threaded for a suppressor or flash hider, too (if that's what floats yer boat).......Rumor has it, the 15-22 will be available threaded, in the not too distant future. I'd put that 'must have' off just a little longer, if'n it was me. The Smith is a much more realistic ar clone.

I have seen a couple in the gun shops. They don't do anything for me and I wonder what the attraction for one would be? I have accurate 22s for squirrel hunting but if I am carrying a AR style rifle I want a AR caliber. Just me. TnTnTn

Just ordered one a few days ago and should have it within a week or so . Being a Ruger 10-22 you just can't go wrong IMO . 450.00

Yup. And the world of aftermarket accessorizing goodies is at your footstool. For a reason........They are common because most 10-22 owners need some. You can't go wrong.grin. For just the price of an aftermarket barrel, and a handful of other stuff, ON TOP OF the already high priced toy, seems like a deal, to me. And you still don't have an AR replica. Nobody has jumped up to invent and furnish 10-22 compatible fire controls and safeties for the aftermarket yet..... A 10-22 in a pistol-gripped stock, is still all there is, when said and done. If pistol grip stocks make it a AR, to you guys, buy some Axiom stocks for your bolt guns, then you be stylin'.......

The really interesting model of 10-22 is the factory, integrally suppressed one. No pesky 1/2x28 barrel threads needed.......
