Anyone out there ride a dirtbike? if so what you got? I have a 1998 Honda CR125 and it's Fast, I can do 70 mph on it.
Just curious to know if there was any other dirtbike riders besides me here /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I have been riding dirt bikes of one kind or other for about 50 years. I used to race MX years ago but just trail ride in the desert now.

t/c223encore; I've driven one of those honda's before. screemers they are. Do they still call that model the
"El snor"?
I had a couple of dirt bikes when I was young but mostly street bikes. The last GSXr1100 I had went 90 mph in first gear. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif What a rush!

I rode one till it rode me. I am too old to bounce like i used to. I broke my knee joint. that was 4 yrs ago and still have a limpif i try to run

yes it does take longer to heal than it used to and it hurts more than before, That I know well. MKy worst crash since i got it was when me and a couple friends on 3 wheelers was riding down the street. i was comming up on them at 70 mph when they decided to stop and turn into a field. well since 3 wheelers stop alot faster than a dirtbike i hit ny friend at about 50 mph, almost flipped him and his 3 wheeler, I flipped through the ait air him, and my bikle flipped over both of us. That hurt, took a couple weeks before I could move well without pain. hit him so hard I ripped out the steel toe in one of my boots. got a little road rash and my helmet saved my again. turned out I hit my head on the street hard enough to wipe aou any memory of my crash. I know what happened cause I had to have my other friend tell me and I did't even get a decent scar from it. But io do have some pics for memories, LOL /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Old but good. A 1974 Honda AT90. This thing will go anywhere and when I get to a fence just slide it under.

i do i ride a 82 125 endurow with high low range by sa-zooo-key. it only goes 45 mph but man will it climb those hills, in low range that is. in low range top speed is 25mph so that will give you a idea on how low it is geared.

I'm amazed! WOW! As far as that 500 goes- That would frag me in the first 2 seconds!
But the 1200- Lady, I would love to take that for a ride. That is one SWEET look'n bike.
How fast have you had that thing going? She must burn pure rice! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
My GSXr was so smooooooth riden, at 55 mph it felt like you could jump off and run beside it. I had a job 20 miles away. It took me 11 minutes to get to work.
This other guy worked there had a 1200 VMAX and we switched bikes at lunch. We went to my house, grabbed a sandwich and were back to work 30 minutes later.
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif I got caught once go'n 120 on the highway. I looked in the mirror and there was a state trooper 3 feet from my license plate with no lights on.
I thought he wanted to go faster. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
He towed my bike and then he towed me! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif

I once looked down and saw 130mph on the speedo, you know it's tough to take your eyes off the road when you get cookin that fast.

The ergos on the ZRX1200 are really "comfy" compared to many of the sportbikes. Most people don't think it's a fast bike, but it's sporting the Ninja 1000cc motor from a few years back, then Kawisaki decided to bore it out and throw it in the ZRX. You look closer and start noticing the 6-piston calipers, fully adjustable rear rezzi-shocks, and fully adjustable forks. It's kind-of a sleeper.

If you roll-on the throttle hard in first gear, it'll do an impressive wheelie. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Daisycutter....I spy that sand paddle tire on the wall /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I used to have one of those! but never used it. got it free, so
no loss.

Nice crotch rockets, they are fun too, my brother has an 02 Honda CBR954RR, I went by the house and looked down for that split second to see 145 MPH and watched my brother go by at 150. We stashed his bike out of sight behind the house and shortly after we did that we watched the sheriff go by.........alot slower /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I grew up riding dirt bikes but don't have a two wheeled bike for myself right now. Woodcock will appreciate this, I have restored a 1974 Honda Elsinore MR50 for my kids. Man what a nice little bike! Looks just like the 125 and 250 cc bikes, but on a miniature scale.

I love the sport bikes for the street and my last one was a Kawasaki that I really loved. My wife and I were both going to get dirt bikes for our ten year anniversary last year but we bought her a car instead. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif When the kids get big enough to ride, the whole family will be out on the weekends tearing up dirt somewhere.

Didja notice my tater-gun on the wall, partially resting on the paddle?

Augman;
Trial bike? Is'nt that what your bike is called? I was allways interested in that stuff.

Bill B;
Thats the screamer I drove! Man, what a fun bike. I can't spell that good on the web but I'll try. I got to drive a 400cz and a maco 501 a long time ago. Ended up on my back with both bikes. I findlly learned my lession on a MX 250.
Make a nice rooster tail and hold on for your life.

T/c223encore;

Those brakes are some nice. My back tire would come off the ground when I come on to the front brake hard. I better hide the 357 cause my wifes gonna kill me when I tell her I want another BIKE!

I started this thread cause I was curious and thought it would be nice to think about something different for a moment. I also learned I'm in a group with a bunch of old guys /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif just kiddin. Really I can tell from all the "I used to have" I'm 35 so I guess I'm not quite old enough for the I used to have group yet. It's all good cause it's the old dogs that teach us new guys the tricks /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
