It has more to do with the quality of the scope, and the barrel being matched with the right ammunition. I used an Accu-wedge on my M4 that I used for competition, but did NOT use one on my Long Range Precision competition gun that I use out to 850 yards, and I do just fine. The M4 with the chrome lined barrel is no where near as accurate as my bull target barrel, but then again I am only using it out to 450 yards, so it doesn't have to cut the same hole.
