I was at bass pro this weekend returning somethings, and got to looking at a few scopes. The guy behind counter asked me if i had ever checked out an Oculus...id never heard of one. So i took a look. They had the 3x9-40 for $200, and it was SWEET. Extremely clear for the price. They had some higher powered ones, a 6-24x50 with 30mm tube...it was about $300 ish i believe, and is what id expect out of that price range. But i was highly impressed with the 3-9. He said its a bass pro exclusive, which worries me even more, and that it was based off bushnell design. Anyway, just wondered if anyone had an experience with them.

The Oculus is the BPS house brand, supposed to have the components made in the same plant Vortex is made in. The Oculus is assembled in China, Vortex are Phillipines.

They have good glass, and the higer powered Oculus are a pretty good value, the 4x16 goes for about $250 and the 6x24 with 30mm tube and Mildot is $299.

The tracking appears to be good with the crosshairs moving every time I make an adjustment. I have installed new scopes from a brand name that would not move the crosshairs each time I heard the click.

Being a BPS house brand, if the scope goes bad, or you think it has, return it and they give you a new one. No sending it in for repairs and waiting 2 months.
