I pick it up last night got home pulled it out and checked it out. Looked good BUT I have to ask why a milspec trigger? why the cheap butt stock? The so called fluted barrel is only fluted from the gas block forward and only for looks. The lifetime warranty I was told about on the the phone is only a year on paper. The magazine block to reduce the capacity to 5 rounds for the states that require that is no where to be found.
So oh well I change the trigger to a timney 3lb I left the POS stock on it for now but it going. No sling swivel stud but you get a short rail???.
So I head to the range the rifle set up like you see it above with the 4.5x14 Leupold and empty mag weighs 11.5 pounds it is balanced well.
I start the break in with factory rounds 1 shot clean for 15 rounds then 3 rounds and clean for 21 rounds. I'll have some fire formed brass next time I go the range.
The ammo is Fed 50gr the box said 3800fps it was 3600 out of the 20 inch barrel. The mag holds 8 rounds the last 2 are hard to get in but not terrible. It is easy to single load a round directly in the chamber so you can have 9 at the ready if you want. The mag is well made and looks nice
Once I got to shooting the 3 shot strings I used the mag no malfunctions ran smooth, very little recoil, ejected in the same area. Once or twice it felt like it short stroked but it didn't worked every time, locked open on the last shot. It was very smooth when I pulled back the charging handle and loaded a round not hard to pull back at all.
I shot my first group at 200YDS I was happy with it being factory ammo and the wind and mirage. Yep I pulled one.
Then I shot a 100yd group never fails I always seem to shoot better groups at 200 than 100
Over all I am happy so far with the way it shoots. Hand loads will do better But I can't use them because it voids the warranty.
I have a Rock River LR-8 ordered in 243 and I will only keep one so just depends on what one I like better. The RRA comes with a better trigger and a stock that I think I will like much better. The prices are pretty close.
More to come.
