Ar-10 Quad Question

If my hand guard is 12 inches long can I put a longer quad rail on?? 13.8. Wasn't sure if it was possible with the gas tube. Thanks!!
 
Be careful which guad rail you order.

You didn't specify which upper you have, but there are differences between the manufacturers.

DPMS has two different rail heights. The newer ones are about 1/16th inch shorter than the older ones.

Rock River will not accept any other rail systems.

Armalite BBL nuts are different than the DPMS style also.
 
AR-10. I thought Armalite was the only one that is A (AR-10)?? I believe most of the ff quads come with the barrel nut. The troy does that I want.
 
Yeah, Armalite is the only "true" 308 called the AR-10.

Rock River calls theirs LAR-8, DPMS is the LR-308, a lot of people will call any 308 an AR-10.

Some quad rails use the regular barrel nut and clamp on to that.

This is the customizable one that I was looking real hard at, but the new CMMG 308 I just picked up had a pretty nice customizeable tube on it already.

Oh, as Blopez stated, it depends on your gas block. You'll need a low-profile block if you don't already have one.
 
I got a FDE Magpul PRS stock. I am either going to go with a troy ff quad same color or a black armalite drop in with FDE rail covers. I know which one will be cheaper!! Also I think either one will look pretty good!! My gas block has the rail on top so that will need changed.
