I own the Smith & Wesson Magpul edition AR22. Very nice rifle. Easy to clean you have the ability to swap out the trigger group and replace with any standard AR trigger. DEFINITELY steer clear of the Colt model made by Walther. Absolutely ridiculous to tear down and clean and the barrel is just a thin tube inside of what looks like the barrel. Bolt does not lock back on empty magazine and safety needs to be turned 180 degrees instead of 90 degrees like on regular AR. Just my opinion from experience of owning a Colt, and selling it to buy a Smith.

The only problem you'll have with the M&P 15-22 is keeping enough ammo around. Everyone, especially beginners and kids, loves to shoot it. I have mine set up with a light and laser for night time vermen control.

I have a Tac Sol upper for my Lower, but I have heard really good things about the M&P. I do like the fact that I can use the trigger that I am used to, and the Black Dog mags are awesome. I have had ZERO issues with it, but that isn't always the case. If I put it on my Colt lower it doesn't work at all.
