AR Addiction-- Serious Problem

Does anyone else feel that they have this problem? Over the years I have bought and sold a few AR's. This summer, due to a well paying job and a wedding coming up (have to take advantage of the semi-single life when I can) I have started to add to my AR collection. I currently have:

DPMS LR-308, Stag mod 6, Sig M400, DPMS Bull 22, and a DPMS LR-204 on order.

I'm thinking that I have more then enough AR's.. yet a part of me is really wanting to place an order on a RRA 20" upper. Being that I have mostly bench guns (minus the Sig), a light(er) setup that shoots good would be nice to have around. The truth of the matter is I probably wouldn't shoot it as often as I should, but yet I feel like it's something that would be well worth the money. Do I need it? No. Do I want it? Yes.

Addicted? I believe so.

Your just getting started!
Need a 6x45 in there and a 6.5
But I will say if you get a 20in coyote RRA you will be more than pleased

A new plan of attack for the 20".. Build it for my fiance. As I've done with her custom 10/22 and a Ruger SR9C, buy it for her and throw some pink on it, call it hers, and I still have another gun to shoot if I want. She agreed to come p-dog hunting with me next summer too, so that's a plus. She can handle the .308 so I'm sure she would love a .223. Now that I have a lower (thanks Dogman223) it should be relatively cheap to get an upper.

I have a terrible case of this problem. School has emptied the gun funds so I'm scrapping to keep ammo reloaded. I only have one AR but I am currently wanting 3 more.

#1= 6.5 built to be a good target gun but also one that could easily be used hunting.

#2= Reaalllyyy want a 18" SPR styled rifle.

#3= Been wanting just a basic little AR with irons just a fun little gun to sharpen my skills with.

Everyone looks at me weird when I say I want more but its like a tater chip, you can't just have one its not satisfying enough.

Start building them, you'll be wanting to start a new build constantly just because you saw a cool new part, had this or that laying around, or needed a specialized this or that. Plus once you buy the few tools, you just gotta get your money's worth out of me anyway!

Buy her a dishwasher. Dont wreck a hunting trip it could get too cold or too hot or the bugs might be toooo bad or that all might happen at the same time and you'll b going home early because her mother needs some help with her garage door opener that had a god dam leaf in front of the sensor!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep I started to get into them a few years ago, thought I had enough of them and even sold one, well in the last couple weeks I have bought 2 more lowers, you know what that means, have to build them up.

Well I actually found a RRA Varmint 20" in stock, which should be at my door by the end of the week! Should be a great shooter when I don't feel like lugging the 24" around.

I too have this problem. Started with one lower and built a 17 Remington and 204 ruger upper. Now have two complete lowers two stripped lowers a 6x45 and a 300 blackout upper. Just ordered a new stripped upper and bolt carrier group for a .44 caliber that my brother and I are designing that should be similar to the 450 bushmaster.

There is a name for this affliction. It is called Black Rifle Disease or BRD for short. Once one is diagnosed with this disease there is no hope for them. There is no known cure for it at this time. It is known to cause marital problems and in some extreme cases even end marriages. Some common symptoms are constant thinking of new calibers to purchase, new accessories, constant research, ways to sneak them into the safe without spouse noticing you bringing them home. It is currently sweeping across the country and infecting the nation. The UN along with the government and the CDC is working around the clock to cure this epidemic.

Are you SURE it`s just a AR addiction?

I just mentioned yesterday to a co-worker that maybe we should start a 12 step program.
Somehow a new Winchester Mod.70 Ultimate Shadow/scope combo wound up in my safe this past weekend. 300 WSM
oh yeah..had to buy brass and dies too of course.
$200 off reg. price somehow I just couldn`t say no.

Build the wife one anyway, my wife is my best hunting partner, spots more game than anyone I know, sits still, and I trust her more than most men!

I am not addicted. I can quit anytime I choose.. really. I am just choosing not to quit right now... especially with good deals on parts all over the place. And all of these leftover parts I have that could be another rifle with just a few additions.. yeah, I could build another one... maybe another two. Who said anything about quitting? Not me.

After buying them in 16 18 20 and 22" I am now buying them in coyote tan, olive drab, titanium blue etc etc etc. I blame this on my addiction to coyote hunting even though they are color blind.

Ha, I think I hear the unmistakable sound of the voice of experience!
