AR Scope Rail comparison pic

My nephew was sighting in his AR today after changing the mounts. He had problems with eye relief with a one piece mount from Wilson Combat. A rail from GG&G and tactical rings solved the problem. My rifle has a YHM rail on it so I thought I'd post a pic of the two side by side for comparison since lots of folks are asking questions about mounting scopes on AR's. Both guns have Burris FFII 3-9 scopes on them.

OKdave,

I just ordered a YHM riser just like yours but haven't installed it yet. I needed more eye relief too but didn't have the $ for anything expensive.
How do you like it? Give me a brief review.

Thanks

That RRA Rail looks good too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
Looks like it may provide more forward mounting of the scope. If the YHM doesn't work out I may have to look at the RRA a little closer.

I just put the Model 1 one piece mount on my bushy. I couldn't be happier with the height and eye relief. Burris FFII 3-9X40 also. All for the fraction of the cost of a Larue mount /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Both the Larue and Model 1 are nice looking scope mounts. I like a scope mounted a little bit lower than most so the Scout Rail works for me as I can get rings to get the height I need.

Good thing about the AR's, you can get almost anything for them.

I really like the looks of the LT-104 but would love to see some pics of how it looks set-up. Do any of you have any you could post!

click on one of the images and look at the full rifle. The Larue is the sweetest I have found. Re-zeros every time.

hope this helps.

Houser, the price is the reason I purchased the YHM riser. The riser is well made and the scope has held it's zero very well. In my opinion it's a great value.

Nice, very nice!!!

Out of curiousity, is the mount with the Dr. Optics sight an LT-104?

It's the same mount with the addition of the LT-137 Dr., FastFire, or J-Point red dot extended ring half and base. You need to specify your scope tube diameter if you order one. I like mine for close P-dogs and running shots on varmints, like Jackrabbits and coyotes. Out of just over a 100 p-dogs shot Sunday, 8 were to close for the big scope. The Burris FastFire did the trick on the close ones for sure.

I would also suggest the Badger Tactical charging handle latch shown in the photos.

Thanks for the info. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I'm going to mount mine this week and will be using Burris Signature Zee rings.
