AR10 type build

I have several AR's in 223 but am thinking of something more powerful. May go with a 243 or 6 CM. Thinking of a build but the AR10 and AR30 platforms are new to me.

The thing to always remember with the large frame is that there are a plethora of options, and you must pay attention if buying parts separately that they will all work. By and large, the small parts are made to cross over (Triggers, selectors specifically; grips, stocks, buffer tubes - buffers and springs are going to be slightly different and in combination).
We just finished up an AR10 for a customer using the DPMS Pattern Lower/Upper combination with a high profile upper receiver, to pair well with a high profile handguard.
We used 243 WIN barrel; quality nitride treated BCG, and used the buffer system from KAK Industry called the KSPEC buffer. 4.5 oz buffer, flat wire spring, and standard Carbine Receiver Extension.

If you want to go Creedmoor recommend going longer in gas port distance than you would on a 223... that is to say, if you go 18", choose an intermediate or rifle length gas port location; if you wanna go 20-24" then go with a rifle+2 gas port location. This extra distance will assist in reducing the pressure into the chamber, and increase your dwell time to help with overpressure issues. The 243 hasn't seemed to be showing any of those issues at all. Add an adjustable gas block to help reduce any overpressure from the port size or suppressor back pressures.

I've done .260 remington, .243, 6mm CM, and .22-250 in AR10.
Like stated above, pay attention to what parts are compatible.
I am a fan of RCA and JP HP bolts,

Ar10 6.5 creedmoor with proof carbon barrel, dead air sandman s suppressor, iray rh50r scope.

I'm not saying mine super light by no means but it's not all that heavy either, With a loaded 10rd mag I'm at 12.5lbs, plenty of guys packing bolt actions that weigh just as much

The sandman is not a super light weight can on top of that

Have you ever held a AR10 with a thermal and suppressor on it?

Not something you want to carry around that's for sure.
Yes. This was my motivation to build my 6mm ARC. Once I was done with it, I barely shaved off a pound. Every little bit helps, but I was hoping for more.
