AR15 mags?

ASC will do around 2.314 in the STAINLESS 223. The other ones, 6.8 and 6.5, are the same. Only the aluminum 223 hold you to 2.60.

Ritch and I've been shooting ASC mags for many years over many calibers without a single issue. I'll put our track record on success with them against anyone. If they were crap I wouldn't have a couple dozen on the shelf and in my rifles from 17 to 45 and everything in between.

sometimes your comments never cease to amaze me. I guess I am lying about the ASC mags being crap and so are many other people who have them that suck. they are imagining crappy spot welds. metal folded over the other with one of the folds sticking up. feed lips that are tweaked. OAL lenghts that are advertised that can't be loaded to. I would love for ASC mags to be great, I really really would. they are way and I mean way cheaper than PRI mags. I don't like giving PRI tons of money. but the fact is they are the first and last word when it comes to long COAL in mags these days. further I would even add this, ASC mags are not capable of comparing to PRI even if they didn't have crappy manufacture. pick up a PRI mag you will notice within 5 seconds its a night and day better magazine.

greg, dude seriously you claim to be the authority on so much AR 15 stuff, you of all people really autta know this.

Well Steve I can only relate my experiences. If you feel the need to disparage me go right ahead but it won't detract from my experiences and my contributions here.

FWIW... My very limited experience, the two ASC mags I bought (based on suggestions here), were total crap. One failed new out of the package and the other not far behind.

Build quality on both is just gawd awful.

I'll never buy another.

I know Greg is a fan of ASC, and I don't doubt his success with ASC mags.

I have tried several different ASC mags, and I usually buy three to be able to have a chance at a good one. So far I have not been successful. I bought three 6.8 SPC mags, none feed reliably in three 6.8 SPC rifles, and two wildcats, based on the 6.8 SPC case. I bought three 10 round ASC mags, for a 204 Ruger version of an AR-15. All three experienced feeding issues. On a WY P-Dog hunt, I had a pretty good pile of misfed rounds with the bullets, setback. I was a little grumpy as none of my other 223 mags supported the longer COL of the 204 Ruger, so for that trip I lived with occasional misfeeds. When I got home, I ordered PRI mags, just because I have had flawless function, with them in the afore mentioned 6.8 based rifles. I do not like the price I had to pay for PRI mags, and in my case I had to wait a few weeks until they came back in stock, but my 204 Ruger AR-15 runs like a clock with them(PRI 5.56 mags).

I use Lancer magazines, in my 458 SOCOM, and just for grins, looked at them for the 204 Ruger, and the 223 Rem. For the 204 Ruger, I will stick to PRIs, and for the 223 Rem., Pmags get the nod.

So my experience, with ASC mags, is different than Greg's, and I won't buy them going forward. I just pay PRI's prices, and am happy they feed well in my rifles.

I have six ASC mags that are used for my 6.8 and my 6x6.8. All have worked well in 5 different ARs that they've been used in. All allow loading to 2.30". I did have one mag break off about 1/2" of the spring. I removed the broken piece and it still functions fine. And one more benefit for me, they are the only 6.8 mag that's available locally.

I have been using the ASC stainless mags in the 223, 6.8 and Valkyrie with no issues. As stated they will allow a longer COAL.

I just need them for my Mossberg MVP. The mags I have now make me seat the bullet really deep in the case. Just trying to get a little more length and shorten the jump.

I've been using stainless steel AR Stoner magazines from MidwayUSA. I'm pretty sure they're made by ASC. I use the 5 and 10 rounders for load development and hunting. So far, they've worked well for me. I can easily get an OAL of 2.300" in them.

Picked up an ASC locally. Its gray so I can't tell if it stainless or not but a magnet won't stick to it and it doesn't seem to be aluminum. Not sure I can get anywhere near 2.314 though.

That describes many companies these days. Perhaps they get flooded with emails and don't have time to respond? I've found that it's a waste of my time using the "contact us" forms and emails. Better to just make a phone call.
