AR15 Supressor ACC M4-2000 and ACC Blackout Flash Hider System

"IF" you have the 3 prong flash hider, and you like the sound of a tuning fork each time you shoot, then it will be fine.

I am not a QD fan. The added components are just a added cost and they are no faster on and off.

IMO...If I were you I would find a dealer with a large selection of suppressors and do a little test driving.

I've got a true QD (YHM Phantom QD) and a "kinda" QD (Tbac 30BA)
The added brakes or flash hiders are definitely an added cost that most don't factor in and it's a huge downfall...but my YHM is WAY faster on AND off than both the 30BA and any thread on can I've ran. Suppressors that pin on, like the Griffen Arament M4SD series and KAC's NT4 are most certainly faster, without question.

Ran 80 rounds through my Phantom on my 7mm a month ago and it was so hot it would have burned me...but by licking my fingers, and 2 quick turns and I laid it on the grass to cool.
Did the same this past weekend with the 30BA, shot 15-20 rounds with the 30BA and it was too hot to touch, too hot to loosen, too hot to mess with at all. Had to let it cool for quite a bit of time before I could take it off my rifle.
This isn't an apples to apples comparison because it was 80 rnds through SS vs 20rnds through Ti....but the temps were essentially identical.

Now, there are very few instances where going on/off quickly is a big deal, and I'm not advocating it as a positive feature for 99% of guys that don't really need it...but there is most certainly a difference.

I'll be running a direct thread can next, but it'll be on another precision bolt rifle.

5 or 6 seconds? whoopie.... Well I guess the zombies could be on you that fast.

If your taking cans on and off when they are that hot either you need your head examined or you need to have Skinney hook you up with several more.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm still contemplating this. I have the flash hider and the tools to install it. But I'm not sure that's exactly what I want to do.

I went to the local sporting goods store and this was the one they had in stock. The Advanced Armament Companies Blackout Flash hider for the AR15 rile. 51T is the model number. it has extra metal on the flash hider that helps lock it into the Suppressor. And it's a three prone type flash hider not the four prong type.

I was more worried about the added weight on the end of the barrel. I was thinking about the suppressor for hunting coyotes. Making the gun quieter might help me get another shot. Which is the reason I went with the AR15 semi automatic platform. I could have just stuck with my reliable Remington Model 660 222 Caliber Bolt Action gun. That thing shoots really good now that I had it glass bedded and free floated the barrel, added a new trigger and put on a new steel trigger guard.

I took the 222 to the range last week and it was shooing pretty good at the shoot N C target at the 200 yard range using the Nikon Scope and the EOTech HH1 optic's system. I was shooing sub MOA groups for the most part. I was surprise that the 222 was on target at the 200 yard range. I thought that I had zeroed it in at the 100 yard range. Maybe I zeroed it in to shoot 2" high at 100 yards? I really can't remember now. All I know is that I aimed at the center of the 2" diameter bulls eye and was hitting inside the orange bulls eye a lot more than not. I had one flier which was the first shot. But I do remember oiling the barrel before I stored the gun. So maybe the oil inside the barrel caused the first bullet to hit low on the target??? All the other bulls were right inside the bulls eye. And it was windy that day too. But I used the Lead Sled DFT and had 50 lbs of lead shot on the tray and two ratchet type straps holding the lead sled down onto the top of the shooting bench. The gun still move the Lead Sled around with each shoot. Which sort of surprise me. I didn't think that my 222 or my AR15 223 kicked that much. But I had to reset the scope back onto the target after each shot.

I run a can with a quick detach. Main benefit for me is being able to run the can on rifles threaded 5/8x24 and 1/2x28 interchangeably.

I think he's betting on the latter

Yep. Multiple platforms, one can. No thread adapters to worry about.. The adapters are an extra cost, but for convienience and flexibility the QD's are the way to go. YMMV

Things I'm wondering about:
1) Does the flash hider and or can affect accuracy and precision?
2) Will I have to shoot different types of ammo? I shoot 5.56 FMJ 62 grain bullets now. And some Hornady 223 55 grain Plastic tipped bullets
3) The extra weight of the flash hider and the can.

I only have about $90 invested in the three prong 51T Flash hider. I've not decided to buy the AC can yet. They are more expensive than I thought that they would be and that's not counting the $200 cost for the Federal Stamp to legally possess
a can.

I don't have as many silencers as skinney, but I have the mini-4, the SR-7, and an SPR/M4 all by AAC. I also have an SRT Hurricane Ti thread on for comparison. The SPR/M4 is comparable to the M4-2000 you are considering. Finally, I've been to SHOT a few times and have shot many other brands and models of silencer there. I'm not representing myself as an expert at all. I'm just giving you some insight for my experience. Others on this forum have much more exposure to silencers than me.

The mini-4 is a nice trade off for sound suppression versus added length/weight. However, mine broke when shooting the second time out. The QD just busted off somehow. I was very disappointed given I was just shooting rats and these are supposed to be "desert ready". It's still sitting on my desk waiting for AAC to get back to me. They aren't taking repairs currently due to moving operations.

The SPR/M4 is a decent can. It is pretty quiet, but it is heavy and I don't like the wobble in the QD. I've had "ok" accuracy results.

The SR-7 is far better than the other two AAC cans. It uses the new 90 tooth QD muzzle devices. I like this can a lot.

Skinney is right. There is a distinct tuning fork sound on every shot with the AAC QD cans. It isn't that big of a deal really but it is there.

The SRT Hurricane Ti is my favorite can by a wide margin. I like the sound, accuracy, and weight. It is comparable to the VAPR that skinney mentions from time to time. For a silencer that isn't going to be moved from rig to rig this is a superb option IMO.

That's my 2 cents. YMMV.

I have the setup you are looking at...I switched out the flash hider for the combination hider/compensator. I have the 556SD attached to it, and POI shift was minimal. The tuning fork noise drove me to switch it out, but the compensator/flash hider combo is loud as all get out. I almost can't fire it without the suppressor on it now.

This is my first suppressed setup...I'm no expert, but I have been pleased with the performance. Good luck.

Thanks for the information. It was valuable for me to hear that.

I was looking at the combo flash hider and compensator. Right now I'm not using anything on the end of my AR15 other than the thread protector thing. I have to watch out as it tend to get loose and I have to tighten it back on every so often. I'm afraid that it might fall of and be lost. Then I'd have to do something to protect the threads.

I had planned on installing the ACC stuff but thought I'd wait and try to keep the weight down on my AR15. By the time I add the three (3" long picatinny rails) onto the free floating cover and the RRA and Scope onto the top it's added another two pounds to the 7lb rifle. I used a fishing scale and measured it at about 10 lbs total weight when I added the Wicked Light system and the scope. The Scope (Nikon/RRA solid one piece rings) weights as much as my HSI EOTech System. Both come in around 2lbs plus or minus a few ounces. So if I put a can on the end with the flash hider it will add even more weight to the end of the rifle. If I were in a hide where I could sit and wait for long periods of time that would not be a factor but I plan on walking into the stands. So weight is definitely a factor for me to consider. And I like to take everything but the Kitchen sink when I go afield. The old boy scout in my says' Always be prepared" which tend to add more weight to my tool belt. So I'm conflicted.

Look at it this way...with the QD, you can carry it in your pack until you get to your stand, and then just attach there.

On a side note, I have the 3 prong AAC attachment on my 6.8SPC and it does NOT make the tuning fork sound. Not really sure why, but I figured I would suck it up if it did with that rifle, because I want to be able to hunt it without the suppressor.

Putting one on my Mini-30 as well, and then I'll be able to switch the suppressor back and forth between the two rifles!! Heck...the 762SSD will probably work well on all three.
