Are you Krylon users spraying the satin or the Fusion or what?

I went to Wally World today and thought I would buy some Krylon and get spraying....but....

My W-World had the following options:

(1) Krylon Satin colors (not many)

(2) Krylon Fusion colors (not many)

(3) Krylon "textured" or something with "sandstone" and "river rock" or something. This was interesting in that it was gritty and seemed more flat than the satin.

What are you all spraying? For those shooting satin, is it flat enough?

Thanks

I found some actual satin camoflage krylon and bought a dozen cans of it about 3 years ago. Black, Olive, Khaki, and Brown. Almost out now!

I've sprayed a bunch of treestands and climbing sticks with the Krylon camo paints over the last 5 years or so. It is pretty tough paint and doesnt get to "glossy" even after a few years of service. It isnt Duracoat by any means, and I'm sure not about to paint my $1000 Rock River rifle with it, but it has performed pretty well for me on metal and plastic.

I would definitely stay with the Ultra Flat if you can locate it...

The Satin will reflect some sunlight if it's around...or is a concern.

I used the Fusion (Gloss) on my grandkid's 10/22 due to the carbon fiber barrel and it's holding up really well..

For a good base, I use the Self Etching Primer and like the way it turns out..

The fusion in ultra flat works well. I spray the entire rifle with a base coat (olive, khaki, brown, or black) then cut out stensils for opposing colors to complete the camo job.

You can get the krylon ultra flat paints at any napa auto parts, if they don't have it in stock they can get it from the warehouse, usually overnight with no shipping.

I'd avoid the satin finish, it's reflective (like 1/2 between gloss and flat).

If you want flat, look in the primer selection, too, they have flat primer colors that will work. You don't need an exact color match for animals, they're pretty much color blind. Grays and browns will work about as well if you can't find greens.

wow it seems to look like a great product. has anyone seen it wear off? i would like to try some thanks for that link kockemdown.

I used the ultra flat on my gun and scope. It'll chip if you hit it hard enough but I can't get it to come off even with lacure thinner or nail polish remover.

here is the kids 17hmr. I sprayed the entire gun olive, then used a stensil lay-over for the black.
