Arizona Coyote Hunting Laws

Saw that quite a few of you are in Arizona. I am located in Kansas where there really aren't any rules for hunting 'yotes. No artificial lights. Thats about it. But, from some of my reading, I get the feeling that it is a little different in Arizona?

The company I work for is based in Arizona and my boss has lived there for 6 years now and hasn't been drawn for a deer permit, so I am trying to get him into the predator hunting. He was surprised that you could even call them in. He is in the Phoenix area. What kind of opportunities nearby would he have for coyote hunting? Any special permits etc?

Thanks in advance

Instead of trying to interpret Arizona Game laws for you, here is the address to our Game and Fish department. Under hunting you will find regulations for hunting. I just got back into calling coyotes a couple of years ago. Using a home made CD caller and I have had some pretty good luck. Not calling real close to Phoenix, but within reasonable driving distance.

The answer you're looking for is, he just needs a general hunting license ($25.50) and he's good to go.

As far as regs, just the 1/4 mile from an occupied structure and if he's calling around the valley, make sure that he's not in a shotgun/rimfire only hunt unit. (Maps are in the regs.)
