Anyone know the cost of non-res in AZ for Coyote? I can't seem to get a definitive answer on the DOW website. Is it calendar year or April - March?

Yep this is the only way to go for a NON_RES. 20 bucks per day and you can skip days a pay for only the days you hunt.

If you are only going for a few days, and hunting with someone that is a resident, you can have them try and get an Apprentice lic for you to hunt with them for a few days from the AZGF office. Those are free.

It also depends on where you are hunting. If you are hunting near a Indian reservation, like the Navajo, you can buy a year lic for $30 and hunt on the reservation.

Yes, it is rape..

It's almost cheaper, last time i checked to get a Colorado Elk tag vs. an AZ in state tag. The Elk tag for az is $148 for resident and 10% of the tags are saved for non-res for $665, the resident hunt fish is $57, and things like turkey($38) and deer($58) are also kind of pricey in my mind.

I haven't purchased an AZ non resident short term license in several years but when I did it included other small game as well. My first day of calling yielded 8 dead coyotes and a gray fox plus just short of a limit of quail.

Walking into one stand put me in the middle of about a dozen Javelina. Most ran off but one stayed about 8 ft from me with hackles raised and looking back over his shoulder. I kept my rifle trained on him and waited him out. He finally walked away. I was afraid that the stand was blown but when I started calling I had a taker come in within one minute.

I've spent more money on a meal than I did buying an AZ non resident short term license.

Yes, sorry. a normal hunting lic in az, covers Coyotes, quail, bunnies, fox, bobcat, skunks, and a bunch of other small animals.

Javalina are tag draw animals.

you can't take a bobcat out of state without taking the hide into the game and fish office and logging it and getting a tag. I think it's $3 each. no export tags for gray fox or coyotes.

Nonresident AZ hunting licenses are good for both fishing and hunting. A nonresident cannot purchase a license that is just for hunting only.

Nonresident hunting licenses are good for fishing statewide and also allows taking small game, fur-bearing animals, predatory animals, certain nongame animals, and upland game birds. No additional stamps are needed unless you are hunting migratory birds.

Everyone who is 10 years old and older will need an AZ hunting license to take wildlife. No more than 2 children under 10 years can accompany one licensed adult hunting in the field.

Children 10 to 17 years old, resident or nonresident, can get an annual combo hunting/fishing license for $5.00 that's good for 1 year from date of purchase.

Nonresident adults can get either the short term combo hunting/fishing license for $20.00/day for any number of days, or the annual nonresident combo hunting/fishing license for $160.00 that's good for 1 year from date of purchase.

Good luck and good hunting!

One of the reasons why AZ requires a hunting license for coyotes is that AZ does not delegate controlling coyote populations to the county governments like UT, NV, NM, any many other states have.

This also allows AZ to conduct annual surveys to monitor the number of coyotes killed by sport hunting statewide.

During the past 10 years, an average of 40,000 to 50,000 coyotes are taken each year by sport hunting in AZ. This does not include coyotes taken by trapping, vehicle collisions, and depredation (aerial gunning).

AZ Annual Survey, Harvest, and Hunt Data, see page 178 for predators

Good luck and good hunting!

Thanks guys! Great info. Yes a daily licence sounds like the way to go. That might be the most expensive coyote non-Rez I've heard of.
Thanks so much.
