Here is a question for you AR10 fans out there,.....I have a chance to purchase a new in the box .243 Win Armalite AR10 that is still new in the box, the price is $1299.00
What do you think about the price, is it high , about right , or just what?
I've been looking for a 243 AR for a good while and a guy I know came up with this one that he said he found out of state. Im not sure what all it has with it, but it would be new in the box just as it came from Armalite. I have not seen it yet and dont know what the barrel length is,etc...
Any input would be appreciated!!

That's a pretty good price for a complete Armalite AR10. I think it's priced to sell because most people want an AR10 in .308Win. This one is perfect for you.

Of course, there is the option of .243WSSM in a lighter AR15 platform.

Thanks guys!!
So are these Armalites pretty good shooting rifles? My primary use would be for yotes out to say 200 to 300 yards and maybe try some long range paper punching for the first time, depending on how she shoots. I will be working up some reloads for it using some 95 grain sst bullets when the time comes.
Thanks again and I also welcome any reload recipes using either H4831sc or H4350 !! I will be using fed 210 primers also. The above powders is what I have on hand to use with my 270 Win, so I want to try to keep the same powders on hand if possible.

Buy it! It comes with a 5&10 round magazine. It is the 20in model?? right.
They are selling for that price on gunbroker plus shipping and transfer.

Yes, Armalites are great shooting rifles. Remember, they made the original "AR" - the AR10. They then developed the smaller AR15. Both designs were licensed to Colt and the rest is history.

I have several Armalite AR10s and if I have one complaint, it's that they're heavy.

That's why I find myself packing my 16in 6.8SPC AR15 more and more, and the AR10s only come out of the safe for paper hunting.

Not a bad price for an AR10, my pal paid $1100 for a used DPMS in .243, so snag it.
The .243 is much better and accurate as heck vs the .308 IMO..

Thanks guys!! And my bad about the price, its 1199, not 1299...( fat fingers mistake

My hunting buddy has that upper with a 24" barrel and it shoots 85 grain Sierras very well. I believe he uses RL15. I kept looking for one for my AR10 but found a 243WSSM instead. It is a whole lot lighter and a muct better yote rifle for sure. It too has a 24" barrel and I tag targets out to 500 yards with ease. That said, I would probably pick up that upper at that price as well.
